My horse has a small sore patch on one of his (white) legs, about mid pastern. Its not red raw but is scabby & gets puffy overnight. I have been hibiscrubbing & using Dermagel but still not getting anywhere.

Anybody got any cures for this type of thing - I suppose its mildly related to mud fever although no mud about. What I really need is a tube of Dermobian that would've sorted it!

I use Betadine ointment in a tube for those sort of things- can get it from some chemists over the counter if you say its for you not your horse! approx £5. Your vet may also stock it or have something stronger to use. It certainly cleared my horses legs up when he had something similar last year that was mild.

I have used aromaheel for a dermatitus that is very similar to mud fever. Not sure that it is necessarily meant for dermatitus but us works a treat for my horse.
You put it on and its softens the scabs and heals up ths sore.

Maybe worth a try.
Good Luck

Betnovate worked on my horse and instead of hibiscrub used mild iodine wash as hibi made it too dry plus it stung.
