Describe your perfect livery yard and yard owner

[Opens can of worms ;)] The perfect livery puts the care of their horse first, respects yard rules and pays on time. If there is a problem, they have a frank discussion with the equally honest and straightforward YO or YM and seek a sensible way forward.

Wow that looks so feasible when you put it down in writing! After running a livery though for over 20 years, I have yet to come across this paragon of virtue lol!:) anyone???

Luckily I have come across a few customers like this and, as a YO, I can say how much easier it is to have customers that respect you and your yard and that I know if there is a problem that needs dealing with that we can both work together as a team to seek the best solution. These customers are out there and are a pleasure to have around!

I put myself in this category, but for the first reason above I was NOT suited to my previous yard. The liveries that were welcomed were those that didn't know how to care for their animals and were happy to feed rank mouldy hay. There are good and bad YO's and good and bad liveries, thankfully i've found a yard where all the good eggs have sought refuge together. : )
