Describing your riding level

I think I would say I'm safe but pointless. By that I mean I have a close affinity with a limpet in moments of crisis, but while I dont tend to do anything thats overly negative to the horse, I also dont do very much to improve it either. Bl00dy depressing really after all these years.....
 
I think most people say they are average cos there are people better than them and people worse than them so they are somewhere in the middle. (me included

I could describe my usual riding level as being on the ground......

However its better described as fairly competent but with appalling balance until my mare misbehaves then I'm useless......
 
I would call myself a competent novice.

I am happy to get on most horses and can get reasonable work out of them. I enjoy showjumping but scared of cc. I have brought my mare on from extremely green to having three nice balanced paces with the help of my amazing instructor (RIP Bob)

I will happily have a gallop out hacking alone or in a group.

I am relaxed and confident out hacking.
