what is the nessasary isolation space for a new horse and why do they need to be isolated what deasease are they likely to be spreading and what isolation distance do i need to have

please help
 
This document might be helpful to you. It is about strangles but gives you good recommendations for isolation procedures and how to reduce the risk of disease. Strangles is just one of the diseases a new horse may be carrying but is pretty serious.
