yep - an example of caring owners and a sound horse with a great heart.

Sad - but he had a wonderful life and a good retirement of many years.

Think some human pensioners would envy his quality of life in retirement !!

He was one of my absolute favourites - when I was 8 I had a day off school to go and watch him race at Wincanton. My teacher gave her full blessing as it was a once in a lifetime thing. My Grandpa and I were racing mad and we always watched Desert Orchid together. Watching him win up the Cheltenham Hill is one of my most abiding memories and it still brings tears to my eyes knowing he was so brave. He was a gentleman and a true star. God bless him.
