Okay, so I'm trying to get excited about house moves in the hopefully not too distant future and we're at the stage of planning work.

Now, added bonus is I get to start a tack room from scratch - it's part of the house - having previously been a kitchen and is nearly 10' square. Water, washing machine plumbing, electricity, the lot!

So, what would you have in your ideal tack room then?
 
Oh I would have one of those airing racks that you can pully up and down into the ceiling for drying horsey stuff on, and one of those bridle hooks to clean tack on they are really helpful, they look a bit like and anchor. Hhhhmmmm what else?..... some sort of shelving with special compartments for saddle cloths, rugs, boots, bandages etc

We're moving into a new house too and get our own tackroom :D except ours is long and narrow so more difficult to organise :/

We're gonna get one of those rug racks which you can hang rugs on and for drying rugs. plus they swing in and out lol.

good tip for one of those hanging bridle hooks, so handly for cleaning!
 
bridle cleaning hook is a must, as is kettle, i know you will have one in house in kitchen but useful for poultice, bran mashes and the likes to have one in tackroom.

I would have a dedicated first aid cupboard/box as well

Noticeboard as well for reminding yourself of important numbers as well as when farrier next due etc.
 
We have just got a portacabin as ours has previously in the house. Mum got some food 4 arm saddle racks from eBay and we have lots of hooks above the window for bits and pieces and the 5 proper bridle hooks for bridles. We also have 3 shelving units with clear boxes with lids on for different things!
 
8 saddle racks
10-15 bridle hooks
electric rug driers and boot driers
washing machine
LOTS of shelves!! All labelled with different places for competition stuff and work things.
The bridle hanging thing for cleaning tack
Some where to sit
a saddle horse for cleaning saddles
a safe cabinet for medicines and first aid which can be locked
A tack trolley for moving tack to stables and back
 
Lots of wide shelving to store packed rugs and saddlecloths on.
Saddle racks at an appropriate height,
washing machine, sink with drainer (as you have water),
I have a load of stacking plastic vegetable rack type containers for different sizes/types of bit,
Table/chairs for sitting down to tack clean,
Proper hat rack for variety of headwear
Music system!!!

My 1st aid box is in my feed room for ease of access. In an emergency, I do not want to faff on with locked doors, my tack room is like Fort Knox!
