Does anybody know of anywhere around the Manchester area, sort of as far as Cheshire, Preston....that does small bales of hay?
We are based in Bolton so obviously closer would be better!
We'd be looking at ordering sort of 30 odd bales ourselves and the rest of the yard may want to order also. We can collect ourselves but obviously if its a large order for the yard we may need delivery.
We are getting very low now and our YO has been unable to cut due to the wet weather we've been having! Problem is one of ours has just recovered from a Cushings induced laminitis so we daren't give her any freshly cut hay, we'd much prefer her to be on older stuff soaked. Our other one is okay as she can go out overnight to cut down on the nets we're using.
Any help is very much appreciated

P.S I'm trawling through pre-loved now...found a few but very far away!!

Youngs Animal Feeds in Somerford, Congleton, had some hay in, not sure how many they have though, or how much (they tend to be expensive). Worth a try though.

Hi,
Theres Sellars in Bury, near Tottington and Butterfields in Pilsworth, not too far from Asda. Also Peter Carpenter in the Ringley Rd area. Not sure of prices as we have haylage.

I've got the number for Butterfields in Heywood if you want it, also Battersby's they are in Heywood too

The hay is expensive at £5.50 a bale ...but the'res not much choice out there at the moment.
I've got a laminitic on boxrest and struggling to find reasonably priced hay at present
