I'm not sure if this counts as advertising but I'm desperate and do not care lol!

I have called everyone I can think of, begged and pleaded and cannot find any hay for sale. Friends only have enough for their own horses and my horses do not understand that Mummy cannot find any hay to buy and that they really must not waste a scrap right now!

Onto my pleading...

Does anyone have / or know anyone who has any hay for sale which could be delivered to PE15. Whilst I do not have transport I do have a well-trained OH and we are happy to do all the loading and unloading.

Edited to say I am happy to offer to swap the OH for hay and load / unload it all myself

Where is PE15? its Stamford isn't it?

Try CWG or Chandlers - if they don't have any they may have ads on their boards for people who can supply - failing that try Buttercup feeds in Oakham/Melton - again they may know some one who supplies but I know Buttercup do sell hay in the feed shops in bales so will deliver it.

ETA - there used to be an ad in the Rutland/Stamford Mercury from a chap called Tickler (I think) who did hay and haylage as well.

I can't help you directly i'm afraid as the farmer I get my hay from is already warning me that he's about to run out. But if you google "lineflight in Doddington" Online tack shop and gun dog trainers. He may have some he can supply to you as I talked to him last year about getting hay & Straw from him. I can't vouch for quality though as I haven't seen it myself.

Have you tried Ticklers? Not sure if they'll deliver out March way but google them, they're based in Stainfield near Bourne and they do deliver.

Hi ,

I would try Everitt feed (MarchPE15) 740524 Big round bales, nice hay £30

I have been using his hay all this year and no idea if he has any for others, but worth a try

Thanks everyone for the suggestions I will be making some calls tomorrow.

jemima_too went to Skylark today and they are sold out - I will PM you about the haylage

quietly_chaotic I get all my feed from Everitts but a friend told me their small bales were £7 a bale. I'm using approx 8 bales a week for my 2 horses at the moment and that price is simply not affordable. I will however look into their big round bales.

Can't believe how bad it has been this year, we have 4 horses on 7.5 acres last year they were in at nights for 2 months, we had plenty of grass and used very little hay. This year mine have been coming in for 3 months now, we have no grass as our back field has a lake in the entrance and I can't see them going back out 24/7 until May

Strange, I have advertised our hay in three local tack shops with no calls at all. We have a few regulars who are happy with the quality and price. We've got loads which needs shifting before the summer, perhaps we should hire a big lorry.........
