Hi everyone I'm new to this site /group I'm desperately, desperately seeking either a cheap horse 🐴 as you all know how tight money is!!!! Or a full loan my preference I live in Scottish borders Selkirk area and have a lovely home awaiting I'm 44 and had horses in my life since age of eight. I'm looking for something from 15 hands upwards as my husband would prefer something wee both can ride although that's not absolutely necessary I will look at anything but my love is with gypsy cobs , big heavy horses that are safe as I do have some issues with joints and bones.

I think asking locally, where people know you, would be your best bet. A big safe cob is a rare asset & there have been sad instances of horses on loan being misused or even sold on, by unscrupulous loaners. Obviously you're honest but a horse owner would want to know you in the real world, where you live, that you're not the sister of a dodgy dealer etc, before they loan their precious horse to you. Have you tried asking your vet & putting a notice in your tack shop & feed store?

If you look on Dragon Driving, there's a dealer in Selkirk who advertises reasonably priced horses. I have had no dealings with them and certainly can't vouch for them but as you are in the area, I guess they are worth a look.

Yeah you are right there I have tried numerous things but experienced someone contacting me after seeing my add thus leading to a legal agreement being made by me only for the owner to pull out 😔

Where would you be keeping the horse?
