Does anyone know of a saddle compnay fitter based in Scotland or would be willing/ does travel up to the north east of scotland as am really struggling to get someone to look at my saddle. Really like these saddles but its just a shame that there is no one in my area!!
 
I feel your pain! I gave up in the end and have just bought a new saddle. The SC ones need so much maintenace with the flocking (ie it beds down and needs re-done more often) and the fact no-one fits locally makes it impossible. The one I did find was based down Newcastle way but she's only up now and again. You can send them direct to the SC for re-templating and flocking if you are really stuck. My big issue with them is there are some good SC fitters but many bad ones!!
 
I had a SC saddle a couple of years ago and had a fitter coming up from down south regularly but would not recommend him.

There was no fitter up here when I had mine although I've heard there is a girl near Edinburgh who does it - don't know the name sorry.

There used to be a guy who did it too but he no longer fits for them.
 
I know its not good i really like the saddles as well. The fitter who i used when i bought the saddles no longer fits saddles and she was really good. There just seems to be very few. Phoned the saddle company and there are apparently 3 in Scotland - have their numbers and will try calling them. Do you know if the person you used still travels up to Scotland?

I do some fitting in Scotland when I have the time but generally it's just new saddles as travelling miles/hours for a refit isn't really worth my time. If you want to PM me with your postcode and what you are looking for I could give you an idea of cost. Since your up North (I'm central) would be better if it was to see more than one horse/saddle if possible.

There is a girl (Clair Arthur??) that advertises as "Equine Comfort" in Equi-ads but I don't know anything about her. I *think* it's her main business so she might be more able to travel further to build up a client base.

The man who used to come up from England is in South Africa now which is why I went and qualified as there was no one up here to adjust my saddles. Since I qualified Clair started advertising about 6mths later but no idea who the 3rd person is. All the fitter contact details should be listed on the SC website or if you phone them they should be able to give you numbers and locations.

I'm feeling your pain as I was totally stuck before I qualified and I really like the saddles and the concept behind them.
 
I had mine fitted by Kay Humphies. You could ask her? Although not based in Scotland, she does travel for lectures etc and may be able to help.

Failing that, perhaps speak to the Saddle Company direct. If you send your own template with the saddle they can alter and return.

Check the Saddle Comapny Website for dealers/fitters. If there are none in your area, there may me some willing to travel.
 
Yes it was Rebecca as i used to have her to do Bowen therapy as well but unfortunately she no longer does saddles. Thanks for that info i might check it out as apparently they do travel up to Scotland.
