Devastated- lost my Murphy

having lost my lovely old friend a couple of weeks ago, I so know how you feel. But if these lovely people on here do to you what they did to me, you will feel loved and cherished by complete strangers very shortly.

take care, cry heaps, but remember the good times ... xxxx:(

So sorry to hear of the tragic loss of Murphy
Remember no one dies until the last person to remember them is gone he will live in your heart and mind forever

Omg i'm so sorry :(. My poor mum lost 2 horses in quite close succession to Colic and it is such a sad, awful thing to happen. It can come on so quickly and be so lethal and for sometimes no reason other then thy swallowed a bit of snow or had a bit too much spring grass :(.
I feel so bad for you. RIP Murphy :(

Thank you for your kind words. Just feel so empty. Just shows how fragile they all really are. Give all your horses a big hug today, they are very precious .

I feel for you and your words are so true.

On Tuesday we lost a lovely old pony to colic. In the space of just 90 minutes she went from fine to over rainbow bridge. If only colic could be dealt with more succesfully, it is something I worry about on a daily basis.

Time will help you OP, remember the good times.

so so sorry for your loss

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thank you all for your lovely replies. They mean a great deal to me. Just can't believe he's gone. Windand rain, that is such a lovely sentiment. He will never been forgotten. Tikino, that is such a beautiful verse. I take a scrap of comfort he's back with his old pal Bob. They were very close. Murph was my rock when I lost Bob, he helped me so much. A very special boy. Thank you all, once again. Very much appreciated x

Ah so so sorry, it is a horrid shock we lost a wonderful horse to colic a few years ago and huge shock. So sorry and RIP MurphyX Running up there with the best nowX.

So very sorry for your loss. What a terrible shock. Do find some lovely friends to give you hugs and support and let you cry. Run free, Murphy.

How awful - horses are so delicate, despite their size, they can just slip away. Big hugs to you, hope you have someone who can look after you while you try & deal with your loss.xxx

Once again, thank you all. Your support means a lot. I know many of you have been in the same position. He was 15, I have had him since he was 3. Apart from his breeder, I was his only owner, and we were very close. Life will never be the same without him. Bless you all x
