Devastated- lost my Murphy

I was so sorry to read your sad post about your lovely horse Murphy. What a great shock it must have been for you. You will always have fond memories of your horse which in years to come you will be able to reflect on and even put a smile on your face. Rest in peace Murphy.

Sending a million (((hugs)))to you. So sorry to hear your awful news. Lost my mare just under a year ago to colic and it's tough I know.
RIP Murphy x

Rotten luck. Commiserating deeply as it's twenty years today that my mare died - and I still haven't got over it!

I'm getting to the age when I can be slightly dotty without anyone noticing so I can fill my office with her photos, fix a few as a screen saver ........ and talk to them every now and then as if she still here! Horses are so much of one's life, take so much time ( if done properly) cost so much - they'd leave a huge void in any case but when you are truly Horsey and bond with one - the loss is beyond words.

And I'm not so sure that time is such a great healer either - this year is quite a poignant landmark in as much that more time has passed since my mare died than what I spent with her yet I miss her just as much.

(((((HUGS)))))

Don't cry for your horse
That life has set free
With a million wild horses
He's forever to be

Don't cry for your horse
Now in God's hands
As he dances and prances
To a heavenly band

He was yours as a gift
But never to keep
As he closes his eyes
Forever to sleep

So sorry for your loss hun :(
I lost my mare to colic 7 months ago it was so quick :(she took ill at twelve midday, four and a half hours later she collapsed and died. Vet was there could do nothing :(
I had her 9 years she pulled me through some hard times. I miss her every hour every day.
Sending you big hugs hun x x x x x x

My heart aches for you. it is terrible to lose a much loved horse like this. It is such a shock.

((((hugs)))

My husband's CB mare was left happily eating her hay at 5.30pm on Christmas Eve, at 10.30pm we checked her and found her very distressed, our vet was here within 15mins and she was taken to a local vet hospital on Christmas morning. Her condition was in-operable and she was pts.

My friends advised me to remember happy times.

Once again I want to say my thanks to all the wonderful replies you have given me. It means so much to have the thoughts and support from the people on this forum. I will always love my boy, and I know aI have a difficult time ahead of me, but allyour kind words have given me the strength to face it. Only horse lovers like yourselves can really understand the bond between horse and owner. I feel drained now, so will try to get some sleep. Thank you all, on what has been a horrible day xx
