Devil's claw for dogs.

Anyone use it? Can you use the DC marketed for horses and lower the dose.

Basically, my German Shepherd (5.5ish - rescue dog) has had both of her stifles operated in quite a major way as she ruptured both of her cruciates.

She does get very stiff/sore after a lot of exercise, and the vet says to dose her with Metacalm when she's at her worst. But I'm wondering about subsituting it with DC - anyone opinions? Thanks.

A friend of mine did this, however I believe it was the doggy version and it really upset her tummy, she was also in physical pain, a few days without it she was as right as rain. I think it may have been called no-bute? as it none steroidal anti inflamatory it can cause tummy problems (bit like us and ibuprofen) There is probably someone on here who knows more about it though.

I've said this before on here, but I gave my old arthritic bitch Holland and Barratt devils claw, and it gave her a new lease of life.
It may not work for some, but for Idun, it was fantastic.

I've just started Jess on this. She has been on it a week and so far she has shown improvement. I have the NAF one and it suggests 10ml for her size.
