hi,

just wondering if anyone has any information about the stallion Devil's Jump?

have googled him and looked at both sportinghorse and hobgoblins site (which is he standing at this year please?) but wondered if there was any other info i needed.

mare is a 4yro full TB, by One More Tiger, done well showing (two 1st's and Champion, one 2nd and Reserve) at fairly large shows. she is 15.3hh, deep, compact, lovely head and straight movement.

areas to improve; i want to add some length to her trot and perhaps a bit more 'flash.' conformation wise, slightly more angle through her hock and i would like a little more length across the loins.

also looking at Mill Law but not sure if he is right for her... any other ideas for a full TB stallion? not too big, progeny to be aimed at some showing to start, then affiliated eventing (probs up to Intermediate would suffice.)

thank you!

thanks for that. i'm afraid the stud is about 6 hours away from where we are, and just too far to go to see him in the flesh.

hberrywell, thanks for the link. i think My Eclipse is too much of an unknown quantity for me to put a maiden mare to as they only have 2 progeny pictured there and he doesn't seem to have anything competing under saddle.
also it says he is Intermediate, but only competed at Novice level going by his BE record. thanks very much though.

His sire always threw difficult stock and the only DJ I've known was certainly a hot head.

Very talented but you risk inheriting the tricky gene. The grey in my sig is an Abergwiffy and he was fantastic but gradually lost his mind with age. I've heard of many similar traits in other Abergwiffys.

If you like Devil's Jump, you'll love his 1/2 brother Kings Composer! My 2yo is by King (the foal and the yearling onthe far right of my signature). 2yo has a fabulous temperament and King certianly improved on my mares slightly straight hocks - btw, not surprised yours could do with a little more angle, as Tiger is like that himself. My 2yo is only one of many county show winners by King. Whereabouts are you?

I used to own a horse my devils jump, (i think its the same one boss is talking about?) she was very capable, but a very sharp mare. She was lovely tho! (i might be biased tho!!
