Much of the Devon tourist board publicity implies you may ride on their beautiful beaches. In North Devon, much of the good beaches are privately owned, and access is restricted to, perhaps, a local riding school which pays a licence fee.

What is it like in South Devon, please? Can you ride on their 'beautiful beaches'?

You can ride on Exmouth beach. Its got the walls (can't remember what the official name is! for them!) along the beach so you have to jump up or down them, which is always good fun! You have to be fussy when you go though because its quite a busy beach so need to go when the weathers not great to make sure you don't get chased by dogs and to make sure the beach isn't too full of people for a good blast.

Where abouts in Devon are you?

Thanks,Sarah. I am in North Devon but cosidering moving south. There don't seem to be many liveries down there either - Sidmouth or Teignmouth area. Guess its not horsey country?
