Devon people

my instuctor said that the mare and foal sanctury had bought it, think this is quiet recent in the last few months,
all events apart from BSJA have been cancelled i think
shame, as they had some nice low key unafill stuff
i wonder what there plans are re competition venue etc? or whether it will not be used as one now?

Thats a shame, unaff comps were good

Definately bought by Mare & Foal sanctuary but they claim they are just keeping 18 mares there and running the shows as normal! All 35 liveries given their notice 6 wks ago and have just vacated the yard last week. Not sure how they will run the shows as one of their staff grooms claim they are going to build stalls in the indoor school because the more mares they keep the more charity money they get but its a case of watch this space. Local pony club told they will be ok to keep using the premises but local riding club told they are unsure whether their dates for long term shows will be honoured! Henryhorn: which estate agent was it on with??

The rates for the indoor school were astronomical and it didn't have a house with it, just a wooden chalet as the property was black listed for planning with the local council due to a previous owner sueing them for a cock up with planning so it went black list which I understand means it can't ever be built on or applied for.

Yes it is the Mare and Foal Sanctuary, my friend works for them and he is moving to the new premises soon, currently they are giving it a thorough spring clean and disinfect!

I think the Poltimore rumour is a new one - Wendy Spiller is in her 60's apparently and doesn't want to keep going. I think they are going to apply again for planning to turn it into a storage facility. My friend was told this at an Exeter Riding Club committee meeting, but I'm not sure who told him.

ps I dont think Wendy is that old! Will ask her daughter when I next see her, but more than likely it is a load of rubbish!
