I got made redundant last year and treated myself to a new Devoucoux grackle bridle with my windfall. Had to import it from America but then never really got to use it as I bought it for jumping and I stopped jumping when I became pregnant shortly after.

Baby is now here and I could really do with some extra cash to pay vet bill so I'm thinking of selling it

I paid a rather silly amount of money for the bridle so would rather keep it than let it go for a pittance... but where best to advertise it do you think to get a fair price????

I'm thinking ebay but don't want to spend a fortune on fees if it won't sell

I think if you put it on Ebay it will sell for near what you payed for it
People seem to go crackers for Devoucoux and if they are hard to get hold of it should sell fine

Definitely ebay just to test the water - wait till a 10p listing day!

I would be surprised if I got what I paid for it- I paid A LOT!

Perhaps ebay would be best bet then.

Colour and how much you looking for? Take it it's full size? Pm if you rather xx

Maybe a saddlery which, er, appeals to showjumpers (I.E sells the posh makes rather then happy hacker stuff) ones which are joining BSJA centres etc.

It is 'mahogany' which is a darkish brown with a reddish tint.

Not even sure how much I want for it really! As much as I can get

I also reckon if you put it on Ebay you will get near enough what you paid for it, especially as it is in great condition. People really do love that make!

E-bay's the place then. Put a reserve on it if you don't want it to go for silly money.
Sometimes things sell really well on e-bay and you may get more than you would have been prepared to ask for it.
Final value fees are 4-6% if I remember correctly.

Thursday on ebay it is then!

To those who asked how much I want for it the answer is I genuinely don't know! I have never seen a nearly new one sell second hand so don't know what I could potentially get. Probably best off taking my chances on ebay, esp if people are saying Devoucoux stuff goes well on there.

hmmm - re ebay, I saw a Devoucoux dressage saddle on there (can't remember which one), it was a few years old but looked in perfect nick and that went fpr £750 - they are £2200 new. I know depreciation, but I thought £750 was quite a bargin for somebody, and there was only 1 bidder. Saddle was 17.5" so nothing unusual. Why don't you contact your local Devoucoux rep and see if she can sell it on there travels??

Devoucoux normally only take their stuff back in part exchange in my experience. I have the current price list in front of me and they list the grakle bridles at £180. Hope that helps.

haha - i bought a brand new Jeffries bridle and a brand new Kiefer of Ebay - £30 and £50 ea with reins and flash. They are both slightly odd colours that go a treat with my baby. The blacks and true havanas go for good money, even the second hand ones.
