Dew claw help

I have just noticed that our JRT bitch has done something to her dew claw on her front leg. It's not bleeding but she must have caught it when out walking and it's split near the base and turned outwards. I'm guessing she will need to have it removed?

Clip it back to the quick and it will probably fall off on its own.

Don't be amazed if it gets infected. I've had this twice recently with a dew claw which had to be practically all removed under anaesthetic. Hope she's ok.
