He is the dearest, sweetest little thing. He's been an absolute joy so far; I am completely, utterly in love! Although he wont love me tomorrow - I'm taking him to the vets for the first time...
We took him to show OH's parents last night. He had kept it a secret as he knew they'd disapprove! They were fine to begin with - his mum snatched Dexta away from him as she wanted a cuddle, and initially she was full of 'Oh I want him! Can I have him??' But then she saw he was docked, and she couldn't give him back quick enough...! We then had a somewhat heated discussion about docking, whereby I patiently (but to no avail) tried to explain how damaged an undocked dog's tail can get when they're working. All they countered with was 'well Borders don't have docked tails - it's against the breed standard' - which is irrelevant, because Dexta is only a Border cross! Bloomin in-laws
Anyway, here he is! He's a bit scabby at the moment as his sister apparently beat him up a couple of days ago
Last night:
Asleep on my brother! He stayed like this for nearly three hours...
Meeting the cat! She was not amused; there has been lots of hissing (but no claws - thankfully!) from both Schumie and Scarlet:
