Well had a wicked day at MK yesterday sun was shining and was chuffed with both boys
Ended up with not the greatest placings but still had an excellent day
Yesterday was Dougals first PN (sorry BE100!!) And was Dexters first event since July last year! So was slightly apprehensive about it, also Dougal has been slightly lame for a week or so, therefore hasnt had the greatest prep
Plus mum was ill so dad had to take me arrrggghhh! Had my friend with me to help though who I am very grateful too!! Also to my other friend who plaited them both for me Monday night as I am useless!!
Anyway first up was Dext's dressage, he was a time bomb waiting to explode having not been at an event for so long!! Test wasnt too bad bar stupid mum going wrong
whoops, he endedup on 34 though so was chuffed with that. Then Dougals dressage thought his test was awful, flies were bugging him and he was resistent the whole way through, must work hard on his schooling now!! He ended up on 41 so not that bad at all for the test.
Onto the SJing, now I thought this was HUGE for a PN!! Looked as big as the Novice at SOE I saw last week! Was a bit green at it as Dext has the tendancy to stop and it was easily the biggest Doug had ever seen
Anyway Dext was actually better then I thought for a stop at no 3 arrrggghh! Then one down, so not too bad for him. Then down to the XC, XC course was lovely, lots of questions for Doog but not too bad for dext, had a corner, really twisty line at the start with an arrowhead, log pile, skinny then round to a wide ski jump. Lots of collecting then moving on! Starting off riding Dexter quite cautiously but he was so bold I kicked on and off he went, was soo confident, so he was clear inside the time

Onto Dougal Sjing
and to be honest all I wanted was for hm to keep enough up for me to go XC, which he did he got 20 faults
Wasnt disapointed at all, he once again did try to please and didnt even back off at all, he cleared them all in front but cant qiuite co-ordinate the hinds! Lots of gridwork before the next one. Onto the XC and he was awesome he absolutely flew everything not batting an eyelid at a thing, bar the water he took a good look at the fence in front of the water, then lept over and flew through the water, so he was clear with 6 time penalties, not bad for his first one!! Am so so pleased and excited about him, think he will be super next year!
Anyway both boys are hopefully off to Mattingley next and I hope to improve on each phase bar the XC by then!!
