That is HORRIFIC! what strikes me is that there is a bandage on the other foot!!?*"! WHY? surely it wants putting down..... how awful

Do you know anything about it?

Not only did I have to bandage her other leg, I had to put hoof oil on her feet (all four).Have to go and turn out but will be back to tell her story later

Gosh, it looks like the horse has lost all the supporting structures from the fetlock. This was my nightmare scenerio for Bailey. His sesamoids were crumbling, due to a bone chip fracture of his fetlock. The chip of bone had basically damaged the sesamoids during normal motion.

He was almost sound, but the vet was concerned that he could have a catastrophic breakdown if these sesamoids did give way. This picture, is the image that came into my mind at the thought of riding him.

Looks like the leg from the knee down is twisted round the wrong way. Obviously the horse has lived like this for some time as it appears a full grown horse.

Heres her story..at least the bit I know.
This little mare was a British bred TB called 'Jessie White'.She was sold to Italy and raced a few times although I dont know how well. She pulled up one day after a pipe opener with a little lump on her tendon. She was put on box rest for a couple of weeks then pulled out and put back on the track. Her tendons exploded!
When I met her, she was in the clinic to foal and covered on her foaling heat.
She had been in this condition for a long time and the lower half of her leg was fused in the position you see it in.To walk, she had to swing the whole leg forwards and then catch up with it, if you see what I mean! It was solid, red hot and would ooze smelly gunk. Her hoof was also begining to slough off

She gave birth to a lovely little colt and was a very anxious mum, poor thing. A horsebox turned up for her about 2 weeks after she foaled, she was hauled up the ramp with foal in tow and driven off to a stud in Tuscany, I never heard of her again

The things some people will do for money...!!!!!!!!!!!

Its wicked, some horses are treated exactly like machines, i have worked in the racing industry and they will conceal whatever they can just to get a horse on the track... its a pity they cant have a brief vetting before they run.
