god, that poor mare.... the extra weight of carrying the foal wont have helped either.... she should have been pts asap, not used as a fecking machine. the things people will do for money! i feel sick actually.
that is one of the most disgusting things i've ever seen. shame on the owner, trainer, stud manager, vets... how horrifically painful for the poor mare. the people want shooting before the horse, imo.
yes, we know that is isnt a birth deformity - maria said that basically her tendons blew. we are all shocked that it was then bred from and then dumped after the owners could find no use for it.
I forgot to say that Jessie was onto her third foal when I met her
. The vet was doing his best to convince the owner to have her put down and actually managed 'not' to have her covered by 'mistake'
. We had an Irish TB stallion standing in the clinic and funny enough'he didnt seem to notice that Jessie W was in season'
. My boss did his best and was even trying to organise a 'heart attack' but sadly the owner sent his truck and driver for her without giving us any warning
