Just seen a newsflash that the verdict in the Diana inquest is one of unlawful killing involving gross negligence on the part of Henri Paul and the paparazzi.

And what a complete and utter waste of money that trial was.

You took the words out of my mouth - or away from my fingers!

i completely agree with regards to a waste of money!! Far worse things our money could be going towards making a DIFFERENCE!!!

Indeed, almost £7m of British taxpayers' money according to the BBC site.

Thats just unbelieveable and what good has it done?

I liked to watch Diana and watched quite a bit of the coverage around her death.

However, even I have thoroughly had enough of all this now. All the images on TV last night we have seen how many times????

I really hope this is an end to it (but I doubt it will be). It's so boring now.....

Al Fayed wouldnt accept at the time that it was an accident, and it looks as if, even after this verdict, he wont accept it now.

Just watched the news Al Fayed was on i did feel sorry for him he looks a broken man, he is accepting the verdict and is giving up looking for anymore answers, who ever you are you never expect to bury your child.

I agree poor poor man that must be one of the hardest things to bury one of your children i don't blame him for wanting answers and I also think there is a hell of a lot of suspision (sp) even after verdict given, but I also agree that it's shocking that the tax payers have had to foot the bill he is a rich man and should maybe payed for the trial, fact is though no-one is ever going to know the truth into their deaths! always questions but no answers but then loads of people have the same but without the heavy profile still a shame though regardless

Yep, I must admit, I got a real lump in my throat as I watched him talking about the verdict.

I don't believe that this long drawn out, expensive, inquest has achieved anything tbh.
The paps following the couple, and taking the photographs on that evening, weren't even called as witnesses, yet they were better placed than anybody on the planet, to give a detailed account of what happened, and lay this to rest once and for all.

The whole thing has been a hideously expensive debarcle, imho.

Were they not called because giving evidence could incriminate themselves? I believe no one has to testify if it means that they would be doing harm to themselves by doing so.
