The young stallion Diarado (Diamant de Semilly x Corrado I) owned by Paul Schockemöhle, Joop van Uytert and the Holsteiner Verband received a total score of 150.57 points in Schlieckau, he got 144.01 points for jumping (1st) and 138.42 points for dressage.

The dressage was won by Count Floris (Florencio x Donner Hall) with 147.79 points followed by Diarado. Third was Sungold (Sandro Hit x Grundstsein II) with 128.74 points

That'll put his stud fee up a bit (mind you it was very pricey already for a 3 yr old stallion at 1500 euros.....) He is absolutely awesome tho and is obviously starting to live up to the expectations. I remember seeing the video of his at Holstein last year (or was it early this year - was the same sale where Z bought Clinstissimo) and thinking he was simply wow.

Just one question though...isn't a 70-day test for a 3 yr old a bit too much too soon??

That is a high index, well done to all the connections for all the stallions

. I love Diarado but Joop was only distributing his semen within Holland last year (not to the UK), with PS distributing outwith Europe, but we were told that the mare owners within Germany and Holland were giving 1st refusal on his semen. So sadly mare owners in the UK was not a priority.

His semen fee was high for a first year stallion, but that would likely be for two reasons...to get a return on the large sum they paid for him and to reduce the numbers wishing to use him.

Very much look forward to seeing his foals.

Very nice stallion, nice pedigree and obviously a talent- but for his stud fee I would wait to see his stock as you cant class it as giving you value for money!

He was very impressive at the stallion show in February. Was very tight in the neck when shown under saddle, but some serious scope loose jumping. I also would want to see what his stock are like before shelling out that sort of money.

ditto volatis - I am sure he may well prove to be worth it and he is truly an awe inspiring horse, however until at least a few foals are on the ground he is just not good enough IMO as you could use something else at Schockemohle's such as Balou Du Rouet, San Amour, Chacco Blue (who was runner up at the Sire of the World comp this year incidentally) or Samarant for LESS money and the likes of Sandro Boy is only 500 euros more!!!

For that money I was thinking of waiting until I could see the stock as 2 or 3 yr olds to be sure of breeding quality in relation to the stud fee!!!

Never mind the waiting list, have gone for his sire diamant de semilly this time round. If we get anything like a Diarado it will make the £3000 stud fee look cheap

I've got Schockemohle's dvd and diarado was the one that was replayed a few times!! i actually decided join this forum after searching for his info and was brought back down to earth with his stud fee which i would happily pay but like you say, with stock on the ground first.

ive still got the dvd i can "ahh" at though, cheaper than a foal

I'm really pleased with this result for him
