My cob is somewhat prone to diarrhoea, any change in diet sets him off.
He's having a particularly bad bout at the moment - I suspect it's because they've been kept in an undue amount with the snow, and now are out on a clean bit of grass, it's not exactly spring stuff, but having been under the snow, and rested over winter, I suspect it's comparatively rich.
Added to this, we came to the end of our small bale hay, and moved onto our round bale hay, same field, same cut, but hasn't kept quite so nicely so they are all a bit more picky.
He's well in himself, perky enough, interested in his food (he just has some Hoofkind, as he's only in the lightest of light work) but terrible squits, and absolutely pongs!
We do feed bran as and when, but I'm not keen to bung him up with dry bran in case he actually has a bit of a blockage and only the liquid stuff's getting around (if you see what I mean) - on the other hand, this can't be doing him any good - it began about a week ago, I suppose, and seems to be getting squittier.
Anyone got any words of wisdom?
Thanks
