My greedy little mare has got quite a dose of the runs.
She is out 24/7 on fairly poor pasture.
She had gastric ulcers earlier in the year, but at the moment is eating well and looks great.
She gets fed most days as she needs a joint supplement and garlic for sweet itch.
I have been feeding equimins pro-bio for a few weeks to try to dry up the stool but it's not working.
Anyone else have any suggestions?

I haven't changed her feed, the only thing that is different is the grazing.
We have our field split in two and rest each half for a month or so.
She recently went into the other half that had quite a bit of grass on it, but it's not like lush grazing as it's only been rested a month.
Mind you, as I'm saying this now, I'm thinking that the grazing is probably the problem...

I know 'fresh' grazing has horrible affects on my mare (along with sugarbeet, haylage, mollasses etc...).

I find Yakhault good for drying them up once their system has been disrupted.............I feed 2 per day for 2 days and then 1 per day for 3.

Yakault....thanks, I'll try that.
Years ago I fed brewers yeast to an old mare I had that used to scour on fresh grass, but I haven't seen the yeast product around for a while.

You can still get Brewers Yeast (not that my mare will eat it). I feed my mare Aloe Vera daily which really seems to help keep her poo normal...........she had varying degrees of diarrhoea for years before I started feeding it (she is sugar intollerant though).

Probably the grass I agree, but also have you wormed recently? It could be that even if you do have a good worming plan, it may not be working, if you've wormed lately them a worm count wouldn't hurt.
