Did a favour for someone - how much payment would YOU expect

I don't take anyone anywhere on their own for less than £30. The only exception I have to this is if I'm taking my own horse and have space on the box when I'm just happy to have some company! A donation to fuel is nice but I'm not bothered as another day they may take me somewhere, swings and roundabouts. However if you gave up your whole day and they haven't even paid fuel yet they are taking the piss!

forgot to say, I also have a few bits of paper in the form of a borrowers agreement in the front of my lorry. I am happy to lend it to friends on the conditions they do all checks, tyres, oil and water, always leave it with a half full tank and muck it out. I also state that if it breaks while your in your care, you pay for the repairs (unless its something that was going on for a while). That way everyone knows where they stand before hand.

cheeky monkeys well it was the last trip then try and get cash up front of people in future say you are skint i got a lift two mile up the road and friend wanted no payment she was going as well but i left well over what other peole would have paid and i told her if she didnt take it id fall out with them it was enough to cover her petrol and entrance fees works both ways i appreciated that as well what a cheek £10

Last year a friend drove her Lorry to pick up a horse for me (I went with her), it was an hours drive each way, and we spent an hour there, so 3 hours out of her day, plus fuel and wear & tear. I gave her £50, a box of chocolates and I washed out the inside of her lorry when we got home.
