I did!!! never seen so much neon clothing since the 80s
It was VERY muddy, spent most of the time trying not to slip over. Some really nice horses, didn't see any (bar one) which wasn't really nicely covered and turned out and was impressed with all of the hooves I saw (sounds odd!)
Good lord. totally different set up by the sounds of it...
maybe theyve moved with the times lol
I remember last time looking at buying a load of ducks, obviously knicked off the nearest river! hey ho!
Remember one year, blokey looking a pony which was tied up, asked is it *broken* guy says - oh yes... points to son and orders him to hop on, horse goes mental kid sticks like a limpet, pony calms down, guy says, its broken now LMAO
LMAO!!! Honestly I was suprised, mother and I searched for dodgy horses but found none. There were some GORGEOUS youngstock and also a matching pair of coloured ponies, about 10hh, that my mother wanted me to buy for the boys
I didn't take any money with me though! The market stalls (of which there are TONS now) were absolutely identical to what you get on Spanish markets, which made us laugh. Mother could not understand the girls though (and there were some gorgeous ones) - loads of flesh on show, skimpy clothing and REALLY high heels "How will they walk in the mud" Mother asked - she couldn't understand they would solely be walking up and down the roads like peacocks!!! We left at 2 though so the dodgy stuff may have gone on after that! There was a big RSPCA presence.
Yep RSPCA always go. Used to go armed with H&H as there used to be *not sure if there still is* list of horses which had been stolen recently so we were always on the look out.
Use to be able to pick up some pretty good things, like Rambo rugs (half price) and i have berties old leather headcollar which ive never been able to replace! it cost me £25 now we are talking 14 years ago, but its been the best headcollar EVER! snoop is wearing it cos i cant get one to fit him properly!
Hardly any equine stalls that we saw, and what there was wasn't anything worth stopping and studying - deffo no rugs that we saw. There were a couple of stalls round the horses that were certainly selling stolen gear (odd hats, tack, etc) but nothing of quality. Was a good couple of hours out of the house!
tack stalls used to be at andoversford which people used to call`stow`.different event that has stopped now.
grand daughter went and said she saw boy kick a shetland in the belly.her and son-in-law bought some framed pics.
Thats why i don't go anymore, there used to be loads of tack stalls with fantastic bargains, especially rugs, but now its like a market.
Glad there wasn't any welfare cases, i saw some horrible sights some years, including a gorgeous coloured cob being whipped with a lunging whip. Had to look away like the RSPCA do.
Also one year there was a litter of puppies they were not older than 3/4 weeks being sold. No mother and they were so obviously ill. My mother marches over to RSPCA inspector, tells him and he answers that they are fine.
More like im scared sh*tless to do anything!
The girls make me laugh with the hardly there clothing, really high heels and as much gold as you wear, lol.
Andoversford used to be really good but I think there was too much trouble.
Remember being there one year and a colt had obviously just been cut with a scalpel as he has blood running from his testicle area - poor thing he was a stunner too!
My Sarah-lee came from Andoversford but I first saw her at Stowe
I left Stowe early as it was too crowded and there were not so many horses as usual (And nowhere to parade them!)I took some pictures of some nice coloureds--did anyone see the lemon and white paint?--very American
