Did anyone else ride to the polls?

No, but I wanted to. It is allowed!

There is a list of rules http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/election_2010/8661984.stm (the relevant part is pasted below)

Rural constituencies might have cases of voters riding to the polling station. In such cases, horses and ponies should be tethered up outside. There is no guidance on other animals such as rabbits, ferrets or pot-bellied pigs, so any decision will be at the discretion of presiding officers.

Wish I'd thought of doing that (but then again I wouldn't have taken my horses along the busy road to get there) - nearest I can come to that is the fact that I turned up in Jodhs, having ridden just before voting.

I did contemplate it, but tbh we are so urban I know there's no suitable place to tether that isn't too close to yummy shrubs/grass, I decided against going with pony. Plus knowing my luck when we went under the railway line would be when the fast train down from Paddington or an extra long quarry train rumbles overhead, he's not keen but thus far we've only seen them from a distance not when underneath!

If I had, my horse would probably have disgraced himself (and me) by doing a lengthy, steaming wee and an especially smelly poop in front of everybody, like he did the last time we stopped off at the pub! LOL

Great pic. I didnt ride but I did turn up in my jodhs and gillet and proceeded to trip over on the way in before looking very lost (first time voter!).

Well despite being a TB, Raj is quite a gentleman and thankfully behaved himself impeccably. In fact he looked rather bored by it all - I don't think politics does much for him!
