Did anyone see Katie Price and Peter Andre last night?
Peter was having a riding lesson (his first by the looks of it).
He made some comments such as: "Why do riders wear such strange and old-fashioned breeches?
And another comment was:" Why is it called "Hacking", why isn't it called "Going out for a walk?".
It made me realise what the general public must think of horseriders and horseriding.
Old-fashioned, strange, out-of-touch?
What do you think?

Seriously, I think they market themselves really well but don't want to know what goes on in their day to day lives

haha yeah, i saw that. Though it was awful watching him hauling himself up on that horses back, then when he got a leg up he landed SO heavily. Poor horse, it was an angel to stand so still!
 
I nearly wet myself laughin at Pete, bless. Firstly in his jods then trying to get on the ned. Why didn't they show him how to get on with a mounting block, much better for the horse. Fair play tho, having a canter.

HeHe! Yeah, just what i was thinking, tho' knowing Pete he wouldn't want to use a sissy mounting block would he?
Maybe Katie was being mean to him and hid it! ;O
 
Just watched the repeat, pete an't that bad on horse back, what a giggle it would be, to be at the same yard as them....lol
I think they gr8.
 
Wish I'd seen it. Jordan/Katie is a strangely fascinating person. She is so brilliantly successful, has made millions from what? Fake boobs and yet, others have tried and failed to copy what she does. And she definitely loves her horses. I admire her secretly!
 
Yes, Madmav - you've hit the nail on the head there.
I posted the question on here 'Did anyone see Katie and Peter?', simply to find out if my hunch was right, that most people, whether they want to or not, have a fascination with her, and a great many, including me, secretly admire her!
I believe, and I have said this to many people, that Katie Price could do a lot to raise the profile of equestrainism in this country. I know it's a controversial thing to say, but just count the number of views this post has had.
I read in this weeks H&H about how Tim Stockdale changed his career path from cricket to showjumping because it then had a higher profile! One person who helped to raise the profile in those days was Harvey Smith, and some of us of a certain age, remember him for being outspoken, outrageous, controversial but sooo fascinating. I believe Katie Price could that for us horseriders/horselovers, I really do.
She just needs a tv programme on horseriding maybe.
I know she has written brilliant books on Pony Care, so a programme on horseriding next?

Question: Hands up who would watch it?

She could be a great person to raise the profile of grass roots riding IMO.
She could also help to dispel the 'fuddy duddy and all riders are toffs' image.

I have to admit i have total admiration for this gal ,ok she may not be everyones cuppa t but she has got a good business head on her,knows how to play things to her advantage and has a true passion for her horses! Look at how she raised the awareness of the Amersham horses. I find her funny to watch and think that she should definately use her high profile to promote horsey issues!
 
i have total respect for katie price and her hubby. she has ridden all her life ok so she may have been a wild child but she knows how to work the business for maximum gain and your right, she loves her horses. she has showjumped she now wants to do dressage and juggles all this with being mum to harvey, junior and princess. hats off to her... i can just about manage my day job 2 horses and a pt eve job! and thats without multiple business ventures and seveal horses and 3 kids and a hubby!
