Aargh. Harder to keep clean, doesn't look nearly as nice/neat as darker coloured gloves and worst of all - shows up all those riders' bad hands (which I guess is a major part of the decision to use pale coloured gloves???).
I only compete dressage at low level unaffiliated stuff so am not going to buy an ugly pair of white gloves until the day comes when I get pulled up by a judge for wearing black.
Well actually it was the rule, but it has been amended so it is now -
'amendment to Rule 45 Gloves must be worn. White, cream or beige gloves are strongly preferred'
So its not compulsary as the original rule stated - so you cant get done for wearing dark colours, but pale is preferable - i guess at lower levels it wouldnt matter - i dont mind, meant i had the excuse to buy a lovely pair of the rokle ivory gloves!
This is what drives me mad about dressage - it is meant to be about peformance, not colour of gloves. Whoever writes the rules would appear to have too much time on their hands!
