Almost.

At 6.30am the weather here was terrible and we were due to set off to the Greencombe fun ride (on the Mendip Hills) at 8.30. We very nearly didn't bother, but as things were looking better by 9.30, we bundled the (very confused) ponies into the trailer and made it to the ride by 11.00.

We had a great ride and the ponies were superstars, but it was very poorly supported, so most folk must have stayed home.

What about you?

Did you ride or hide today?

No way! I was out in it come what may at 7am this morning for my usual hack...only snow or ice stop play for me...have to make the most of it when I can get out in the winter months.

I had entered our first dressage test and wasn't prepared to pull out under any circumstances...we had to hack there too so were both soaked through by the time we got there!

I stood on a road crossing for the RMAS drag hunts fun rid for 5 hours . Lots of folk having a good time despite the rain so worth getting soaked:D

nope, i got my hack in the 1hr when i didnt rain YAY! i was expecting to get soaked so i had all may waterproofs on ad put extra reflectives as was quite dark and then when the sun came out i looked like a nutter! :p

Bozzy: How did the test go? More importantly, did you enjoy yourself?

Mike: I hope the riders appreciated your efforts. I know that I am always grateful for the work and time put in by organisers and stewards.

We stopped to speak to all the stewards today, can't have been much fun for them, pouring rain and only a handful of riders.

Got to say, I love my long brown wax coat. Started the ride dry, 12 miles and a dozen jumps later...still dry :D

Same here! It was quite close so I could have hacked there but I took my trailer. I've only had my horse 5 weeks and he's an ex-race and hunt horse so has never even done circles before. We only did the intro A, walk and trot test. I was absolutely thrilled because he was so well behaved and he did everything I asked, we even left with a rosette as we came 6th!
We got absolutely drenched but I hardly noticed, I had such a good time.

Looks like I'm a wuss then :D

It was torrential from 6am when I woke up to about 4pm. By that time, I had a big hunk of beef in the oven, and had made a Baileys cheesecake....... :D

It was horrendous here today all my boys came in to get out of wind and rain which they loved!! But I rode :D It stopped raining so tacked up then what does it do rain  but oh well it only drizzle so took my 1st boy out and had a great hack then came back and decided whether to take my other boy out i did and it was still drizzling but was another great hack then get back and blue skies come over then it goes grey again :p So i was lucky with just drizzle. x
