Did the weathermen get it wrong?

I was expecting devastation this morning.......75mph winds, trees everywhere, floods..... well apart from a power cut last night and a few twigs down, it's just a bit windy here near Bristol. Horses were all in last night and expected their electric fence to be strewn around the field but all was intact. Have we just been lucky here?! Am very relieved as was very worried about all the old trees around the stables!

It was really windy here last night, along with rain. Hate it when it's really windy i think my garden fence will take off! The weather men tend to get it wrong though don't they?

Got it right for us so far today. At the moment we have strong winds, driving rain and sunshine - but, oddly, no rainbow which is a bit spooky

Lovely day in Lincs which is a little annoying as cancelled XC training lastnight fearing the worst!

Im in Lincs too... are we in a strange microclimate!!!??? It is blue sky and sunny. Just a bit windy. I cancelled horse viewing for this morning expecting it to be awful today

Its stopped raining atm, the winds are still gusting 50-60mph, haven't seen so much debris on the road as i would have expected. Think hunting may be off though!

Rather windy here and the blue skies we had earlier have been replaced with yucky grey ones. More than half expecting it to chuck it down too. Just checked to see if youngest's riding lesson is still going ahead

Woke up and thought "it's not too bad"! Turned horses out, strong winds but almost sunny. However .......! One hour later and its pouring again and wind getting stronger by the minute. Just looked at forecast for tomorrow, which was originally meant to be OK, but looks like heavy rain again. Hoping it might be better later this afternoon so I can manage a ride. It's SO annoying when you work all week and then can't ride at weekends.

Its blowing a hooley down here in Cornwall

I was meant to be having people come to see a couple of ponies this morning, luckily they have cancelled till 2pm, as its meant to clear a bit

started off not to bad here on the Beds/Cambs borders but as the day wears on it's getting worse! Cancelled my lesson for today and think I made the right decision.

I am most relieved that for the moment it is dry and even quite bright here in Cambridge. Fingers crossed it stays that way

Not it was awful in notts last night! Bedroom door opens onto a balcony and the wind was blowing through the lock something crazy!!!

Horrid here in West Sussex - rain, strong wind, did have a short spell of sunshine earlier though. Hope it dries up soon i'm on putting to bed duty today, 12 horses to bed down on my own including 2 nutty foals, could be interesting.

Got it spot on here (near Portsmouth) Blowing a hooley, driving rain road and fields flooded, and four cosy horses peeking out of their new field shelters thank goodness!!!!

Its horrid in Surrey, after getting broken in to on thur night/fri morning we went to the yard this morning to find two of the stable roofs had been blown off in the wind ! We had two rather damp ponies !

Glad to be up North then!

I posted earlier on this thread boasting of a sunny day... so we went out riding... and got soaked to the skin on our way back.:(

Horses all cosy in their Thermatexes, & me by the Aga with a cup ot tea - Bliss!:)
