I did. Popped into yard on way home to put a lightweight on him and was pleased to see YO putting lw's on her horses, you always feel better when someone else on the same wavelength.

Went in this morning and couldnt decide if best to leave on or take off.....saw that YO had taken hers off so again, safety in numbers, and once I had poo-picked and warmed up massively (helped with my horse following me around and warming me up with snuggles) decided I did the right thing.

SO did you rug up last night / and / or remove today?

I clipped my horse nearly 3 weeks ago (just a trace / chaser type - it was 30C and he needed something!!) and he's been rugged up most nights for the last 2 weeks. Just has a no fill TO on. This weekend he'll be getting a blanket clip and I'll probably put an 80g on for night time turnout, with a cotton sheet during the day.

Yes I did - but only a nofill. I felt that, even for my good-doer and especially since he had an Irish clip last week, last night's frost was a little too much. His rug is off again now and the sun is shining.

He'll be naked again tonight though.

No, just the summer blanket still, although I did think about a slightly thicker rug. I try to keep him unrugged during the day when out and with just a light blanket at night until he is clipped, but it is a very drafty stable - an old bull pen with one open side - so I wondered if I was being mean!

Yes and no.
Mystic had his neck rug on last night and had it changed to a standard this morning (if he isn't warm and dry he gets grumpy and bullies the other two) but the two cobs are still unrugged. They haven't been clipped yet, putting it off for as long as possible.

my Tb has been in a MW combo since that heatwave ended, as he was clipped during that for a dressage clinic and it was required. clip nearly grown out now :( He has still got it on during the day aswell, he did come in last night tho and kept that rug on so i guess i gave in, in that respect...preffered that than to put HW on for 1 night. He will be out again tonight tho as its warmer today

Ooo yep I have admitted defeat, Buddy has his no fill on at night now! Off for the daytime still :)
My two retirees are rugless, they are living out this winter so need to push those coats out!

Oh now I feel like I spoil mine too much, they are put by day in medium weights and in by night also in m/w stable rugs. Not clipped yet either but It was 2degrees in our yard at 11pm last night!!!!

mine are in their 200 grams don't see the point in using the heavy weight now as no rug to move up to.

I use

4oz = no fill rug in spring and autumn
7oz = 200grms when a little colder before first clip ie now.
120z = 350 after first clip and up to end Nov
14 oz = 450grms end Nov to beginning Feb

I WONT put more than two rugs on . So with all the rugs above ( all being turnouts) i don't use stable ones now i have a 4oz padded under rug which i add to each one .

so wears just thin then thin and under rug. then just next rug then that rug + under and so on.:)

So on no account my horses have excess weight of hundreds of rugs.

nope. 2 hairies and on the plump side. Plus, our weather was reasonable last night - it was nearer the start of last week it was really horrible - and nope still no rugs on the hairies then :)

Depends on the equine. One's still getting fat too easily and has a coat like a woolly mammoth. Then at the other end of the spectrum we have madam TB who's been rugged for a while now, at least at night. Month irrelevant, temperature is - I'll rug if they're starting to drop weight/feeling cold on face/ears - simples.
