God it was alot busier this year! I only watched the demo's in the small arena as back again tomorrow but it was packed this afternoon and very rude people standing up by barriers so people in seats couldn't see! Mounted police where fantastic and the breed display especially marmite the mule - he was so naughty!!!

Did anyone see horse and rider mag stand? They're normally there but couldn't find them this year.

Did you see the Carol Mailer jumping demo? How was it? My sister was jumping her grey horse and I havent heard from her yet to see how he behaved!

Haven't been yet, tomorrow is the day though

T was very well behaved! though he knew how to do things a few times only to be proved by your sister wrong! theny did very well though..

Police horses were fab. Did not seem as many trade stands around this year. Still a few bargains to be had though. Bought 3 shire shirts for a tenner, pair shire jods for £12.99 and a rhino full neck for £50. Bargain

Stockdale and Gould demos good. Marks demo poor (looked like they were making it up as they went along). Shopping OK, but smaller than previouss years. The usual collection of bizarre stands that frankly make you think "how do they make a living out of this?".

Bless him, he does like to think he knows the best way to do things...can get very cross when someone else tries to tell him there are other ways! He does love having an audience tho!

Who?

Yes, I too thought Kelly's and Monty's Demo was a bit too much ad hoc and rather funny! I think they were mainly doing something in the evening and not really doing anything special in the 50mins.. I assume. I hope!

Ollie was quite funny, to people though to really browse and know where your going, it was chocka all around.

Didn't see the Horse stand though, as wanted to sign up and get a cool gift, oh well. Got lots of silly things. Did ask someone though in a rug shop, if they had a lunging rug and she said she had never heard of such a thing and I shoud use my turnout.. Cannot see myself lunging my mare in a turnout and a pessoa lol.x

When it starts with Monty asking Kelly how long this demo is meant to last, and she gives the wrong answer, you kind of get the feeling that no preparation has gone in to it.

If I had travelled especially to see them, I would have felt quite insulted.

Yes I entered the trailer competition although the girl on the stand was very rude! She snatched an entry form from my friend saying you have have to be 18 to enter (friend is 22) and then made her leave the pen at the stand even though it was my friend's own pen! Very strange

I had a good day but only saw Oli's demo. Am back tomorrow as I'm on a stand so want to see Sylvia Loch and the police horses. My only purchase was a wormer, not very exciting.

Had a great time. Met Tim stockdale outside, got him to sign his book that I had just bought. He was lovely and his demo very good and hilarious!! (can you tell he's my hero) lol

Shopping was good but like others said a bit smaller than previous years. Still managed to spend WAY TOO MUCH. got some ariat winter boots that I can ride in and wear my splint. A musto coat, a pair of splash denim waterproof jods for only £17.50 and a couple of nice fleeces, various smaller things

There did seem fewer stalls than last year but there were some good bargains to be had.

Bought far to much but both horses are now kitted out and have lots of treats and will be bald tomorrow thanks to the new clipper purchase....oh and bought a couple of things for myself...long wax jacket for £20....hopefully it will stop me looking so much like a drowned rat

It was very busy by the afternoon, quite pleasent at 9 this morning and only managed to watch 1 demo the retraining racehorses, wanted to see the mounted police but unfortunately I resembled a packhorse at that time trying to get all the purchases back to the car

Had fab day and would agree that there were less stands this year, some large spaces near the second arena. Saw Oli and Tim both v good and had chat with Tim on Equimat stand. Got the splash denim jodhs too and some whitaker tendon boots for £15 - bargain! Only down side - was hit by another car on the A46 on the way home

No-one injured just a bit of bent metal but bit of a dampener on the day.

Chat to Tim as well, his early demo was just right for me!,my bargin was a William Funnel blouson type jacket and trousers to match, for £20, amazing.Couldnt get over how many folk where there, with some serious spending power.Would have liked to see more "organisations", and a few less queues. But good day.

I'd also like to be able to visit the urinals in the gents' toilet without finding a girl in there using the washbasins and have a woman emerge from 1 of the cubicles as I was mid flow.

Your sister's horse was gorgeous. Really liked him.

Enjoyed the day, lots to see and do. Didn't watch many demos although the ones I did see were excellent.

I had a great time there. Sat through two fascinating, consecutive sessions in the Horse Answers area and watched the Polocrosse.

Didn't have any trouble getting out of the car-park either. Thanks, Daily Telegraph for the free tickets.

I saw it and he was very good...perhaps a little cheeky

but I was very impressed with her riding, tell her well done from me!

I am talking about T there by the way.

Brokenarrow my friend and I will apologise for starting off the visits to the men's toilets
blush.gif
The queue for the ladies was horrendous and my bladder just WILL not wait. A man coming out told us no one was in there and he would watch the door so we popped in (I was very impressed actually as the men's were uch cleaner than the ladies!). Only problem was that as we come out lots of other women decided to use them as well
frown.gif
So i apologise for us pinching your toilets and hope that YHL will take on board that 2 toilets is not enoguh for all the women to use at night.

I had a fab time and really enjoyed the Police horses and Kelly Mark thing on the evening. Have to agree their afternoon event was rather rubbishy though.

Our only blight on the day was coming across a crash on the M1 where a young 22yr old man was killed after hitting a dumper truck

I saw him sitting in his seat.....very very sad.
