I've sold to a buyer from photos - buyer from Germany, moving to Norfolk Island (part of Australia) and me from New Zealand.
Was a long process and vet came and vetted her fully, also assessed her for travelling by ship, temperement, how well she led etc. They travel in small containers for a few days.
Everything went great - new owner more than happy.
Not sure if I would go the same route to buy though. I think you need to b e very trusting and hope that you are dealing with a totally honest person.
