i rode my new boy in school he was good a few bad bits but i decided it was far too windy and not safe so got off and lungeed him instead what would you do? how were you rides today?
Havent ridden since Monday since my sick bunny has to be fed and watered once per hour and even just nipping to see Jack takes me 45 minutes either way if the traffic is good :*(
He was really angelic when i did ride though, so feeling rather miffed that i cant get up. Specially since i went shopping on tuesday and bought him a lovely new saddle cloth too :*(
Haven't ridden yesterday but had a fabulous sesison yesterday. All the loose jumping and jumping on the lunge has paid off. Tyler has gone from a horse reluctant to jump straight bars to more than happy to have a go. Nearly jumped off his back with joy
Can't wait until our schooling work tomorrow (although I am wanting to do flatwork so maybe not as exciting )
Had a lesson on the 16.2hh five year old RS school that I've never clicked with. We were only doing simple things like serpentines and leg yeilding in walk and trot but it's the first time I feel I've asked him correctly and got the response I was after, had a huge grin on my face at the end. Didn't have time to ride either of my two today though.
I had an EXCELLENT ride today, my friend and I hired bury farm indoor menage ( i went that saturday and did a dressage clinic on my 4 yr old- and she was really naughty! so thought i should g and try again!)
She was EXCELLENT! from bucking and taking off on saturday, she was soft supple and really working from behind. not a peep out of her. really chuffed.
I haven't ridden today (have to be at work ... rubbish idea when its not even raining outside....), but I had the first lesson that I have had for ages yesterday, and it was great. This was the first lesson with a new instructor, and she was really lovely, and my dear little mare when beautifully, and even managed to refrain from having a tantrum when we changed something that I had been doing for ever. Bless her little cottons!!!
Monday and Tuesday we had snow and ice and were snowed in, and yesterday and today am laid up with tonsilitis. I'm lucky in that my OH can ride her when he goes to ride his share horse. I have missed her

I had a lovely ride on my boy today, went into a large estate (looks like parkland like Pride and Prejudice!) Anyway, let him really stretch his legs! Then went home via the cross country jumps in the woods and we did them twice! yeehaa! I was smiling from ear to ear all the way home! i do love jumping!!! and so does my boy!!!
I haven't ridden since monday due to college. But i did have a cracking ride! Took him out for a a hack and had a blast through these huge puddles, i couldn't stop laughing at all this water spraying everywhere!
I decided to lunge Nelly today because I haven't done it for a while and I like her to have variety. She let off a bit off steam on the lunge and pretended that trot meant canter quite a few times. Little monkey!
Had a really good ride yesterday, George seems to be back to mega chilled out mode! Today's ride wasn't bad but had trouble with canter transitions, but did some good groundwork.
Finished work early...miracle! So quickly drove to yard and set off onto the moors..couldnt not ride in the sunshine! And another miracle we had a hack without any spooks(well maybe 1 or 2!)
Generally very pleased. Managed to get more activity and she was fairly responsive in all transitions but did throw in a couple of bucks in canter transitions and had a spook, spin and buckety buck at....nothing in particular!!!
Skived off work for the second day (shhhh!!) and went for a hack with a friend, F's only in light work so had a walk out for an hour, he was fairly good although insisted on jogging most of the way home just to annoy his Mum! But all four feet remained on the floor which is a massive positive!
After the last 2 rides involved Full height rears (never done before) and broncing was a little reluctant to get on her today!!
However she worked beautifully, really soft working from behind with very little arguments!! I think she realised that if she did it again she was in big trouble!!
Had a lovely ride yesterday, there were little bits of snow on the side of the track and we did a beautiful slow canter, normally we go like a bat out of hell but as it was soooooo cold didn't want him to sweat up too much. It was just wonderful.
