Did anyone see the Cheshire Hunt on Horse & Country TB last night (SKY 280)? It was an hour long and was really interesting, talking about the hunt kennels, fallen stock, the master, the hounds and all the followers. It was also talking to the farmers through whose land the hunts go through. I would love to go drag hunting but haven't the nerve so have never been but I was absolutely fascinated by the programme. It was really interesting. After watching that I drove home and saw my first ever 'real life' badger crossing the road through my rear view mirror. A good night all round.

Yes watched it thought it was a good overview of drag hunting and hunt came accross well

I thought it was an interesting look at 1 drag pack, but not all are quite the same. Certainly we do not us the same scent, they use lol.

The fallen stock scheme is to a) feed the hounds and b) as a service to the farmers, so why wouldn't a drag hunt operate it?

Our local hunt stopped a collection service, which was quite a blow, but they will accept fallen stock if it is taken in, and the huntsman will come out and shoot something if needed. That is very much appreciated by farmers.

I thought our hunt had stopped doing this completely, so it was a very nice surprise to be able to use this service. (Luckily not very often).

I thought it was really interesting,

I was talking to my dad about going hunting about half an hour prior to watchin it, he was going no dont go hunting and I was saying how I would love too, watched that programme and I was like RIGHT IM OFF!!!!!!

Because of the huge cost of complying with the new regulations post-BSE, a lot of the quarry packs stopped their flesh round rather than shell out £50,000 plus to upgrade the facilities and because round here a lot of the drag packs don't have large incomes and end up kennelling with another pack, therefore don't have their own staff to run a knacker round.

Iv never seen so many women hunting with that much makeup on in my life...they must of new the cameras where coming lol.

Really good coverage of the Cheshire Farmers drag hunt...
