Didn't realise how expensive dog coats are!

I bought Flyn a made to measure fleece but that was a few years ago and didn't take into account just how much he would develop!! It was one of those with a polo neck and legs and poor thing was almost strangled in it in the end

So off to the Westcountry Game fair today determined to buy him a new fleece to help him dry off after shooting. Crikey aren't they expensive? If only I was any good at sewing I would have fashioned him one from an old towell!

Finally bought him an equafleece one but just a normal rug, no neck or legs, and thankfully I bought just the next size up to what they recommended as it only just fits him - he is in the small labrador coat! (he is a springer).

Can't wait for the season to start now so that he can show off his nice new bright red fleece

I was in a Pet store this afternoon and we were laughing at how much they were. I am afraid my greyhounds had blankets made from polypads. Not sure that I would have taken them out in public in those though.

Hmmm, did you see what my baby goat was wearing? (very lazy, I only sewed the belly band and front) Now THAT would be embarrassing in public.

Our lurcher and springer both wear Masta ones, they are about £9, waterproof outers and fleece inners so no good for wicking. Mark Todd do a Coolmax one which is excellent for wicking, off the top of my head between £15 and £20 for a 20" one I think?
 
Thats much more reasonable STR. Wasn't looking for a waterproof one just one to help him dry before he gets home.

I bought a 26" but to be honest the next size up would be better!

How did you get on today?
 
Enfys, you would be onto a winner producing your own. There was one stand with towelling rugs that had a bit of padding in ............Over £40!!! I couldn't believe it!!.

Was the Game Fair good? I'm only getting to the BACS one in Ballywalter this year. Must get over for the CLA some year, we were due to go but then it was cancelled

It doesn't have a neck or legs, but my Mum swears by them!
He is a XXM, and from the base of his neck to the base of his tail he measures 21-ish inches.

It is a mini version of my Horse's rug

It was perfect for when he had to sit at the yard after getting wet when it was freezing!
 
Ohhhhh hurry up and post them! We haven't been out for pigeons in agggges! Daresay we will be though as pup needs a lot of work during the summer. Poor Tina isn't too good though, she's lame on her front leg, not sure what she has done

My dog has equifleeces as they are the only coats that stretch over his bulldog head / shoulders. They are expensive initially but they last / wash really well and five years later look as good as new.
 
You would think I was utterly barking if I told you how much Stella's orange coat cost. But it is made to measure, duck down, and if you can imagine a single-coat breed trying to cope in subzero temperatures, it really isn't too bad (she wears it literally every day from October to March).

I have 3! 1 equafleece which I boughtat Bramham for £38
2 others which cover the belly as well which where £9 each!

I like the 2 styles but prefer the equafleece as it covers more of her buttocks which is what I want to keep warm after working her!
