I've just had a message from my farrier that my share horse's feet are currently too bad for him to be able to get shoes on his hinds. I suspected that was going to be the case - he has bad feet at the best of times, and the weather hasn't been helping - so I've been trying to come up with some possibilities to suggest to his owner

He's currently on speedibeet, timothy chop, farrier's formula, and a dash of mint, with a separate trug with timothy chop and a lucie brick, plus a net of haylage. (He's a picky eater with a history of ulcers, so vet's advice is to give him an overnight buffet.) He's in at night, out for about eight hours during the day.

I know Rockley Farm uses Pro Hoof, so I'm tempted to suggest swapping the Farrier's Formula for that. Looking at the ingredients, the Pro Hoof seems to have far more in it. Also, adding micronised linseed?
