At the moment I have an elasticated breast girth to prevent the saddle slipping back whilst jumping.
This is what it looks like
I just wondered how a hunting breastplate is different; does it do the same thing but just look different?
I like the look of a hunting breastplate more, and the breastgirth is fiddly and can slip down sometimes.

Personally I prefer the hunting breastplates as I feel that the breast girths can restrict the shoulders sometimes. I think the hunting ones (particularly the elasticated ones) give more freedom. Other than that the only differences are that it fastens much higher up and you can attach a martingale to it. Should do the same job though.

A hunting breastpalte kind of follows the angle of the shoulder more so should give it more freedom.

Plus you can add a martingale attatchment to it to save having to use a martingale with a breastgirth.
