Difference between normal fleece and 400g fleece rugs?

Hi guys, I'm getting my pony a new fleece rug with neck for this winter and because he fits the Amigo range best I am getting one of those. But now I'm really confused as to the difference between the 400g fleece and normal fleece?

normal fleece with neck:

same thought than Django pony. If you go for the 400g, it seems to be much cheaper on the Hope valley saddlery website (have no link to them but they tend to have very good prices).
