Difference between Sarcoids and Melanoma

sarcoids are like warts and melanomas are like tumours under the skin. Sarcoids can be anywhere whereas melanomas are generally under the tail, but can be in head region but fatally can be in the horses insides.

I have never heard of a horse dieing specifically because of sarcoids, whereas melanomas kill horses (mine inlcuded)

There are many treatment options that can remove a sarcoid whereas there is pretty much nothing you can do for melanomas.

Warts and sarcoids are not the same as sarciods are skin tumours. Melanomas are a different type of skin tumour.

Melanomas are usually benign and are often found around the anus of grey horses. Sarcoids can be quite nasty and are found on all different colours of horses with varied locations (anywhere on the skin).
