Am I right in thinking that soft swelling on a leg is likely to be an infection and hard swelling likely to be strain, bash, tendon etc?
Loan horse has big leg today after being stabled last night. Swelling is firm from top of fetlock moving up leg towards hock but biggest nearer fetlock and only on outside of leg. Am hoping its just a bash. He's 100% sound and not bothered by me prodding and poking him. Its literally just like a fat leg. Did go down after cold hosing and walking out but still very slightly there.
Anyway I realised earlier that there are 2 types of swelling and I've never had it confirmed which are which. I hope I'm guessing right!!
