I was wondering if it looks too weird/tacky to have a different colour bridle to the saddle. This morning I went and ordered an EB white padded bridle (http://www.englishbridles.co.uk/shop/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=105&P_ID=525) in black, as it was on offer.

After ordering it I'm starting to think it was a bad decision... because I have a light brown jeffries jumping saddle. (http://www.ejeffries.co.uk/aimg/x1_fd2b366bcc193b469388a750558249c3.jpg)

What do you guys think? do you think it will look weird together? I'm getting a bit worried now.. :S btw my horse that I'm going to use the tack on is a chestnut TB

I personally like my tack to match, but I don't see a problem with it not.

My friend refused to hack with me this weekend as her girth had snapped and her spare clashed with her numnah!

I like the bridle and it is close enough in my book.
But then I have hacked out with a piece of baler twine as a browband (an emergency mind).
Come to think of it, my saddle is black and my bridle is brown these days.

Well, they alone probably won't look great but better to be functional and you can work around it! Since you got the black version peghaps you could use a black saddlecloth with white piping, and some black boots if you use them, then it will just be the saddle! And there's your outfit too.

I don't think anyone bothers to match with the tan saddles, when I have seen pros using them they just have Havana bridles which would admittedly go better than black!

Ermagawd... I thought I was bad with Fergs wearing a black bridle with his dark brown jump saddle (bridle matches dr and gp saddles and I'm too lazy to swap bits every day)

Mind you, he also wears a dark brown headslip if he has the weymouth in as the old headslip I had as it matches the other beast's old show bridle so even my bridle is inconsistent so I can't really judge...

I'm sure it will be fine. I saw that company at hickstead and bought the best quality stud girth I have ever seen for £68, if the bridle is as good quality then I suspect you will be happy!

The bridle i have been using daily is a black comfort hunter bridle as it has her snaffle on it. Her GP is brown and her dressage saddle is black. She does have a nice jeffries hunter bridle in brown which has the show pelham and double reins attached this comes out for shows :)
So everyday hacking and jumping we use a black bridle and brown saddle :p
