Different size hooves

Anyone elses horse have one size difference in hooves? BB is smaller in LF by a whole size according to hoofboots

It is noticeable to me and obviously the farrier

Yes Kiki near fore bigger than his off, hinds are equal though

Both my Arab's have odd front feet one more boxy and narrow than the other, uts quite common in Arab's I think seen a few the same and my farrier said his seen it alot.

Glad its not just BB, one of his fronts fits a size 2 scoot and the other is a 3 the back are only 5mm out god knows how he managed to win races with all these odd feet

Could be part of hi-lo issues with the front feet (and @Pinkvboots) , one with a more upright angle, usually slightly boxier, and one with a shallower angle and usually the hoof is bigger. Good to look holistically at musculature, how he moves, spinal rotation etc, all of it is related and the more symmetrical we can get them the better.

One of my Shetland's has odd front feet but that's because she has an arthritic hock and is compensating. She is receiving vet care/monitoring, fine at the moment but probably won't make old bones,

Yes it tends to start with asymmetry in the womb or possibly birthing trauma. Foals are so often a bit wonky, in the wild they learn to cope and fast, for us to ride them the ideal is for them to have something like cranio-sacral work in the first 2-3 days. We can still help them later with body and groundwork to help them move as symmetrically as possible and the feet may change with this.
