Ive been looking for a while for a confident, experienced rider for one of my geldings or both (sometimes) and there just doesnt seem to be anyone out there (Devon) that wants any riding. Is there a particularly good place i can advertise or find people that want some riding?

Try putting an ad in your local feed merchants and also at local yards. You could also try preloved, and also spreading the word between local liveries etc. The benefit there is that you will be able to find out about what the person is like so you are less likely to end up with somebody unreliable or incompetent. Good luck on finding somebody suitable.

Thanks ive tried preloved and a few others. I thought that there would be lots of people around that wanted to ride without the financial out lay. Ill keep on looking

theres a thread kinda on this in the CR - my arguement was all the rides and shares that arwe what i am looking for are down south!! rrghh! hardly any up in Scotland! :(

Yes i think i will wait until the spring. I am very flexible on what someone would want to do and there could be a possibility of competing. So if anyone on here knows of any experienced, capable riders please let me know.

Try 'HorsetoLoan.com' I had loads of interest off of that website and found both my sharers on their although I am in a totaly different part of the country to you.

Tell me about it! It took me ages to find someone but worth the wait. I have had a few people contact me but just not been suitable or said they are one thing, then come and ride her and actually are something else! I advertised on free horse ad wbsite, there are lots cant remember all names, gumtree, free ads, ad trader, all around local shops, post office etc and tack shops. could try local paper too, just put it out there everywhere! even horse groups on facebook...
