Took digby on his first ride this morning.
Spent the good part of a morning giving him a nice groom and just fiddling around with him, then i had 2 try on my choice of 2 saddles to try and get one to fit!! luckily one is not too bad!! and got his bridle sorted!
we decided to walk our old boy (thomas) out with us just so i had some company...this is the horse who is normally as stiff as a board-but we have decided hes a bit of an old soldier!!
digby was good to get tacked up and on and off we went.. we only went round the block hes very wibbly and drifty but he was really good seeing as its really windy as well!! took him through a fast flowing bit of shallow water on the road after all the rain and he walked and trotted through happily, and had a short trot and canter..he was fine!
thomas on the other had was a complete a*se...and was dragging mum everywhere-hes always been a bugger for this as soon as he knows he has a chance he uses all his strength against you...the more he mum told him off and tried to get hold of him the more angry he got and was having a pathetic excuse of a buck as well as pawing the ground...so i said to mum let me see if i can lead him-so i led him from Digby all the rest of the way home-so a 5 year old leading a 25 year old :lol: :lol:
