Right, im looking at getting a new camera for general stuff and for horsey pictures. The one that i have at the minute is good outside but photos of people jumping inside always turn out blurry, ive been told thats because cameras blend the light tones together so its difficult to focus, whats that in camera language so i know what i dont want? ;)

And has anyone got any recommendations? i want to spend under £200 but preferably around £175, i know i cant get anything amazing, but just want someting decent enough

Thanks :D

if you're looking for something that has a decent chance of picking up the horse jumping without blurry but with your budget, i'd go for a digital mixed with dlsr, there are lots of them on the market right now for what you're looking to pay. however always go with the better makes (nikon, fujifilm, sony etc)

Well , I use a Samsung WB600. Its pretty good ,can do arty or action and lasts a long time. Would say it isnt the best in bright light, but really good zoom ( 15X ) and shots for the price. Might still be a reduction on them at Argos? Xx

i'm in the same situation as you and my hubby's mate who is a photographer recommended a canon EOS digital SLR.Aparantly you can pick them up for under £200 on ebay

If you can get a Canon EOS you're onto a winner. I have the 500D which I love. You may be able to get one cheap enough secondhand (check ebay/preloved etc).

If not, try a Fujifilm Finepix S1500 or similar. I had one before I got the 500D, and it actually turns out pretty decent pictures: All of these pictures were taken with the S1500: http://www.flickr.com/photos/patriciaclark/sets/72157625158675805/ and my very poor photography!

Stepped up to the 500D and read/practised loads, improved photos no end but I was very impressed by the fujifilm for the price :)
