Personally I wouldn't have done this post, everyone knows who your horse is and now anyone else coming to see him will know that they can get him for £24k and probably less. You might have just cost yourself a few grand.
Oh come on everyone, be a bit supportive to Stacey here! Of course this is a really big deal for her, she loves the horse, it is a huge transaction and quite frankly - if any of the HHO'ers had the kind of money to buy her horse they would have been on the case a long time ago!
Fair point, she obviously wants to sell the horse, and as people know he has been for sale for a while and so far she has only had one viewing, maybe she should take the risk and take 12.5K now and hope she sees the other half later!
i'd ask what their best offer is to buy him now and then they pay for keeping him at present yard for a few months. much simpler that way. i, too, know of people who have let horses go on a 1/2 now, 1/2 later deal, and the 'later' part has never materialised...
To be honest I do not think knocking £1k off a £25K horse will change how they want to do this. I think it could be a matter of them needing 2 months to come up with the balance, hence they may only be able to get their hands on £12.5K now.
I am not sure that having a horse half sold is really a good idea, maybe keep the horse on the market and they can buy it in two months time for the full amount if still available. That way you are sure you'll actually get the full amount.
Personally i would put it to them that they either pay in full (an agreed sum between you and buyers)now and become his owners (if they choose to pay to keep him with lola then thats their desision) or they contact you when daughter has done exams and if he is still for sale then so be it, if not then it obviously wasnt ment to be.

In your post in New Lounge on the same subject you wrote that the advert does say about them buying a half share in him now and buying the other half in 6 months time - that might be what gave them the idea.
I don't think they can afford him. If they dont have 25k now then where are they going to get the other half of it from in 2 months time?
I think they are wishful thinking tbh. I wouldnt do it any other way than full money upfront, if they want to keep the horse with your rider for 2 months then so be it but they'd need to pay the £1,000 a month to do so.
I dont recon he will be on the market for long and someone will snap him up. I am £24,999.99 short, can I have him now and then pay you when I win the lottery? lol xxx
i wouldnt take the offer personally. id want all monies up front. i think you should wait for someone to come along with the money in the bank. also regionals are coming up soon and i think once hes jumped a few of the second rounds you will have more of an idea how good he could actually be. as bumby ride said on the other section hes obviously a nice horse but alot of horses get to the standard hes at now its its wether they can go on from there. after all if he does well in his second rounds you may want to keep him.
It's a tricky one if it sounds like they don't have the whole amount now. I think if I wasn't really in a hurry to sell and thought that the buyers were right for the horse I would come to an agreement where they paid a deposit of say £1K now, paid the full training fees for the next 2 months and then the balance when they actually bought him. That way they wouldn't actually own any share of the horse as such and if they don't come up with the cash you keep your deposit and have had the training fees paid for.

I should think that there are quite a few people on here that would be able afford this horse, perhaps it's just that no-one on here that has that kinda money likes it enough. Also, one question, if it's that special, and I'm not saying it is or it isn't, how come no professional has snapped it up, i mean, a potential international horse at £25k sounds bloody cheap to me.
